Dan Cammish:
“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s my biggest race of the year so it will be good. We should be strong this year, we were strong last year but inexperience let me down.
“I think I’ve improved as a driver and I’m on top of my game. I didn’t perform at my best in qualifying last year and it is so important in Supercup, it pretty much all rests on that. I was too safe. You have to be on the edge to be fast in these cars. I was in my comfort zone to much last time whereas this year I will be on it and pushing straight away.”
Daniel Cammish will return to the Formula One supporting international Porsche Supercup championship for round four at Silverstone. The event is a major support series to Formula One and will take place on Sunday 10th July.
Dan made his debut in the championship at the same round in 2015, during his successful Carrera Cup GB title-winning campaign. He will once again participate in his Nationwide Crash Repair/PPG Paint sponsored car and will be hoping to emulate the top ten finish he achieved in 2015. The Porsche Supercup is renowned for being fiercely competitive as some of the very best drivers compete and hope to follow the likes of Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber into factory drives with the Stuttgart marque.
The Leeds-based driver has already clocked up two victories around the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit this year when he took the double during the Carrera Cup’s World Endurance Championship support slot in April. This recent racing experience around the 3.6 mile, 18-turn circuit should bode well for Dan, who will be looking to make his mark on the race and signal his intentions to move into more international racing.
