Dan Cammish:
“We’ve got the speed here. We had it on Tuesday when we showed we had the pace. We showed we had it yesterday and then we’ve converted it today. I’m quite proud of that step up on the Saturday, so I’m really pleased with that performance from the team and I’m looking forward to converting it tomorrow.”
Dan Cammish has taken the double pole for the Carrera Cup GB races at Knockhill, as he looks to extend his convincing championship lead. The orange and white Nationwide Crash Repair/PPG colours looked more prominent in the Scottish sunshine after Dan had to handle decidedly treacherous conditions in practice yesterday which proved to be too much of a challenge for some.
In the opening stages of the session, Dan was able to get into clean air and maximise the full potential of the car, to put in a lap time quicker than his nearest challenger and teammate Charlie Eastwood. Traffic was an issue in the second part of the session, but the BRDC SuperStar driver managed to find some clean air to produce lap times that were quicker as the session drew to a close.
With Knockhill being one of the shorter circuits that the Porsche Carrera Cup GB visit, Dan will be looking to continue the impressive pace that the Redline team have been building up since they went testing earlier this week.
Dan will be going for his eighth win of the season in the opening round tomorrow, for what will be rounds 11 and 12 of the 16-round championship.
The first race for the Carrera Cup GB starts at 10:15 tomorrow morning, with the second race set to be shown live on ITV 4 at 15:40 later on. Highlights of the first race will be shown between 12:50 and 13:50.
