Dan Cammish:
“My hopes are very high for the weekend. I’ve got a confident feeling that we’re going to be really strong. Croft was one of the places where the car really felt good in testing, so hopefully, my luck changes just at the right time and it’d be great to have a good result on home soil.
“So far, I’ve had two absolute shockers – weekends to forget – where I’d have been better off staying in bed, and I’ve had two that have been fairly decent. To be tenth in the championship having only scored points in six out of the 12 races is not so bad.
“I dominated there last year in Carrera Cup, and I’ve always gone well at Croft. It’s been a really good circuit to me, so I’m hopeful we can go there and really show a turn of speed. I’m also looking forward to taking the NAPA Racing UK car up the hill at Goodwood. Being the only Touring Car driver this year in current machinery is quite exciting and it’s great for NAPA to have that visibility on such a big stage.”
Dan Cammish is hopeful for a strong weekend in the British Touring Car Championship as the series heads to Croft, in Yorkshire, for rounds 13, 14, and 15 of the 2022 season.
Racing on home soil, the three-time Porsche Carrera Cup GB title-holder has enjoyed success at the circuit throughout his career, claiming three wins there in Formula Ford, another three victories in the Carrera Cup, and has made two BTCC podium appearances there as well.
The NAPA Racing UK driver has had a difficult return to the series in 2022, suffering terrible luck at Donington Park and Thruxton, but also visiting the podium at Brands Hatch and enjoying three top-six finishes at Oulton Park in his Ford Focus ST last time out.
Prior to the race weekend, Dan will be representing the BTCC as the only driver in the series to take current hybrid machinery up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Thursday, before travelling north for the weekend.
After two free practice sessions on Saturday, June 25th, Dan has qualifying at 15:20, with live coverage on itv.com/btcc. The first of three scheduled 15-lap races is due to get underway at 12:05, followed at 14:35 and 17:05, with the usual live broadcast back on ITV4.
