Dan Cammish:
“When I first came back to Porsche it took a bit of acclimatisation but at this point, I feel good and like I am on top of things, so I am looking to push on at Oulton Park, where I have a good track record. Qualifying is a part of the weekend that I really enjoy, and it is important to get pole position as it’s hard to overtake at the circuit, so I will work hard on Saturday to get the car dialled in, try to lead from the front, and get some good points.
“It has been a while since we raced in front of a big crowd, recently I have been to both Goodwood and the British Grand Prix, and I have seen what a buzz a full crowd can bring to an event. It will be great to see the fans there as we always get great fans and a big attendance at Oulton, so it will be a mega weekend and one I am looking forward to.”
Two-time Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Dan Cammish is set to resume action in the series after a four-week break, as the Duckhams Oils and Porsche Centre Preston-backed racer heads to Oulton Park in Cheshire this weekend (July 31/August 1).
Dan leads the overall standings after the opening four contests of the 16-race season, returning to Porsches after three successful seasons in the British Touring Car Championship.
The Redline Racing driver took a win and second place on the opening weekend at Snetterton, adding a podium at Brands Hatch to retain top spot in the title hunt despite contact in the opening race at the Kent venue which send him to the rear of the field.
After two unofficial practices on Friday, July 30th, Dan has the all-important qualifying session at 11:00 on Saturday, at a circuit on which is is trucky to pass, with the opening 18-lap race at 15:50 that afternoon. The second contest will be held on Sunday, August 1st, at 15:25, with live coverage free-to-air in the United Kingdom on ITV4.
