Dan Cammish:
“I am looking forwards to Brands Hatch. It’s a completely different circuit to Snetterton with a short lap and plenty of undulations, but I have gone well there in the past.
“I am feeling more and more confident and the muscle memory for driving the Porsche is quickly coming back. With more time in the car the performances will keep improving and we can only get stronger. It is going to be a hell of a close battle throughout the season, but I think it is one we are all relishing, so I can’t wait to get back on track.”
Dan Cammish is set for more action in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this weekend (June 26/27) as the series travels to the tight and undulating Brands Hatch Indy circuit for races three and four of the 2021 season.
Making his return to the series in which he claimed back-to-back titles in 2015 and ’16, the Yorkshireman took victory and a second place at Snetterton to open the season.
It was a welcome return for a fan favourite who has wowed spectators with his performances in the British Touring Car Championship in recent years, narrowly missing out on the Drivers’ Championship title on two occasions. He also made an impressive return in May as a late call up to BTC Racing, taking a podium while shadowing team-mate Josh Cook to a one-two finish.
Dan also caught the eye of those trackside for the first time since 2019, with a classic Duckhams / Porsche Centre Preston livery on his Redline Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup machine, rewarding his new and existing partners with those two stand-out performances which leave him top of the standings.
After two unofficial practice sessions on the 1.2-mile circuit on Friday, June 25, Dan will have the all-important qualifying session a day later at 14:00. The first of two 34-lap races is scheduled for 10:35 on Sunday, June 27, with the second contest broadcast live on ITV3 at 16:00 that afternoon.
