Dan Cammish:
“Qualifying went well. The whole team were quick. I drove to pretty much the limit of the car and two poles are the result. We’ve been fast all week. We were testing here on Tuesday, and on Friday in free practice, and we carried it over to today so I’m very happy. It’s no surprise that Charlie and Lewis (Plato) are close as they are my teammates and they’ve seen my data. They followed my lead to set their best laps but I’m glad they did as it puts a gap to other title rivals, so we are happy as a team.
“Conditions are perfect for racing. There was maybe another tenth in the car but to be honest, that is about as fast as we are going to be going really. We’re in the box seats for the races. I’ve got my teammates behind and we’re in a good position to control the race and that’s what I intend to do, just like last year.”
Daniel Cammish has secured a double pole position at Snetterton for rounds 9 & 10 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, duplicating his 2015 performance where he went on to win both races.
The orange, blue and white Nationwide Crash Repair/PPG sponsored car was the first out of the pits to start the session due to being fastest in the two free practice sessions held on Friday. The reigning champion and current leader set the benchmark time on his first set of tyres, edging out the time of teammate and Porsche Scholar Charlie Eastwood.
Having pitted and put fresh Michelin rubber on, the Leeds-based driver was one of only two front-runners to improve his time on his second set of tyres. The time was good enough to secure a double pole position for Sunday’s two races.
Race one starts at 9:15 tomorrow morning with race two following at 15:25 and will be broadcast live on ITV4. Race one highlights will be shown between 12:50 and 13:50.
