Dan Cammish:
“I had a great start. The first two corners were really good, and it gave me a gap going into the hairpin. It was over from there; I just drove away. We had so much speed in the car and in myself, we made it look good and I’m really happy.
“We just had so much speed and that’s why I was able to set the fastest lap of the race and then beat it a couple of times. The car is so good here, I like it here and when you combine the two this is the result.”
Daniel Cammish put on a masterclass in round six of the Porsche Carrera Cup to demolish the opposition and win by a clear margin.
The 27-year-old got a superb start from the standing start grid to hold the lead. Unlike the previous race, he was untroubled by his front-row rival, Stephen Jelley, through the opening corners and was then able to set about building a lead.
By lap five he had set the fastest lap of the race and built a four-second lead. He then carried on, bettering the time twice and amassing an 8.5-second lead by the penultimate lap. From there he cruised across the line to take his fifth win and his second double victory of the season. The Nationwide Crash Repair/PPG Paint sponsored driver now leads the championship by 20 points as they head to the halfway point of the season at Croft.
