Dan Cammish:
“I’m looking forward to getting going again. It’s going to be another competitive grid and another tough year. There are some really good guys, guys that have had a year to learn just like I have, and everyone starts again, fresh, determined and motivated just like myself.
“Brands Hatch Indy is a tough circuit. It’s one of those that you just have to do the best job that you can because it’s so close. With traffic you only have to miss your opportunity and you could be starting in the middle of the pack, even if you are the fastest guy and then you’re stuck because it is a one-line circuit. We’ll do the best job we can, but I have no doubt that we’ll be somewhere near the front. I think we’ve got the speed; the team are happy, and I don’t think I’m any slower so I don’t see any reason why we can’t be challenging again. I’ve got a good track record at Brands so I’m quietly confident that we can do a good job.
“It’s nice to see number one on the window. I earned it and it’s the first time I’ve used it in my whole career so I’m quite happy about that. On any given day I think I’m a match for most people, so we’ll just have to see. Hopefully, I can put the car at the front when it matters.”
2015 Porsche Carrera Cup champion Daniel Cammish has declared himself ready to defend his title as the championship heads to Brands Hatch for the opening two rounds of the 2016 season.
The Yorkshireman has diligently prepared over the winter months and topped the times at the pre-season Media Day held at Silverstone last week. He is not leaving anything to change however as he returns to the series, he dominated last year with 11 wins and five second places from 16 starts.
The new season brings with it a new livery as Dan continues his partnership with Nationwide Crash Repair and PPG Refinish UK for a second year. Also joining the roster of sponsors is PPG subsidiary Brown Brothers Distribution.
Despite the strong competition, Dan is confident ahead of his return to the circuit where he claimed his first of four double victories in 2015. Having the number one on the cars is also giving him extra motivation.
Qualifying for rounds one and two takes place at 11:25 on Saturday 2nd April with race one starting at 10:00 on Sunday with race two following at 15:30.
